Could not recommend the guard dog training centre enough! We sent our 8 month German Shepard puppy, Leo, who was dog reactive and a very strong puller on the lead. Sending him there was the best thing we have ever done for both us and our dog. He is now a dream to walk with no pulling and he is barely reactive at all anymore! The team were amazing throughout the entire process and the hand over we got on pick up was so thorough and if we had any issues or questions after his stay they were so prompt and happy to help. Thank you to the team at Guard Dog Training centre for completely transforming both us (the owners) and our dog's life for the better. We can now confidently take him anywhere without being anxious or having to avoid people or dogs!!
Very unhappy with the results and condition of my dog. Booked my German shepherd in for obedience training for 10 days. He’s still untrained pretty much the same as he was when we handed him over only difference is he responds to being yanked around on a choker chain. Still doesn’t walk on a lead.
He appears to be less dog aggressive. However he was returned to us with a limp, he’s favouring his back leg and appears to be experiencing some level of pain or discomfort. He Also has marks on his face from the halter lead he has a bald patch across his nose it looks like a scar fingers crossed it’s not and the hair grows back. When booking him in I expected him to be able to walk on a lead, sit , come , stay , drop ect.. off lead. He was preforming these thing’s somewhat ok when the trainers had the choker on him but as soon as we put his collar on him we have exactly the same dog. He could already sit , shake and sometimes he would do the drop command well but not always he’s the same very little improvement. Was an absolute waste of money and it wasn’t cheap either for the money we paid I expected a trained dog or a lot of improvement but we received almost no improvement. When the trainer was giving us the demonstration of how to yank our dog around he yanked him so hard my dog yelped and had a little cry it was after that I noticed he was slightly limping. I asked the trainer do you think you might have pulled a muscle in his leg from yanking him to hard and he said “yes possibly but if that’s the case it should heal fine” instead of checking to see if my dog was ok or showing any concern for his injury they just asked someone form the office to video him walking. She just rang out of the office with her phone and started filming and that was that. There was no care shown towards my dog at all. He’s also not barking properly I’m not sure if he’s just barked to much from being in the kennel and has lost his voice or if there is a injury from being Yanked around , could be coming down with kennel cough. I’m praying that it’s not permanent damage to his vocals it’s more likely he’s just coming down with the flu but he’s barely able to bark and not what I want for my German shepherd if it’s permanent and can’t bark.
We could not recommend the Guard Dog Training Centre enough! We sent our 8 month Border Collie puppy, Misho, who was dog averse and becoming a dangerously strong puller on the lead after all our efforts to personally train using all forms of treats! Just like others, sending him there was the best thing we have ever done for both us and our dog. We now safely walk with no pulling and he is only super curious but not reactive at all anymore! An absolute angel. The team were amazing throughout the entire process and the hand over we got on pick up was so thorough . They stand by their training which is why he is booked in for boarding for our next holiday soon. Thank you to the team at Guard Dog Training centre for training our family to better understand our puppy
Was having issues initially after training. The facility didn’t hesitate to contact me to come back in and enable me with the tools necessary to correct my puppy to an excellent behaviour free of charge. Cannot recommend the team here enough, they will go above and beyond and care more for the customer than what they can get from the customer. My puppy has outstanding behaviour and has exceeded expectations at a rapid rate at home after obedience training and the training session for me to implement it at home. Will definitely be back to go further in his training! If you really want results, the team here know exactly what they’re doing
Put my 16 months old pointer for 2 weeks obedience training. So, my impressions are such:
1. The training results are a mixed bag. It is not bad, I can see some marginal …
Cannot recommend this place more! I sent my 6 year old Border Collie and 6 Month old Kelpie/German Shepherd puppy for the 8 day training.
They were lovely on arrival and we spoke in depth about each dogs problem areas. They also took note of my Border Collie’s special diet.
I was given an update half way through the week - which was in-depth and personalised in a way that I knew they were really getting to know my dogs!
When picking up the dogs I got half an hour with each dog going over training. My 6 month old Kelpie/German shepherd was my problem child and basically did a 360!! He is no longer reactive towards any dogs or people. Absolutely outstanding results.
I then got another half an hour training with both the dogs so I knew how to handle both at the same time.
Both my dogs are in fantastic condition, they were bathed prior to me picking them up. They’re both bright eyed and seemed like they had an amazing time!!
I will without a doubt be returning for boarding- as this facility is top notch.
Also shout out to Kirstin for being so understanding and looking after my pups!
Mila has been here twice now and each time she has come back healthy, happy and washed, not to mention problematic behavior worked on. Kodak the brown pup went in for training and he came back so much more mature and receptive to what I …
I had an approximately 7 month old Husky that needed some obedience training and did a web search for places to go. I came across Guard Dog Training Centre. They seemed reasonably priced for the training I wanted. I rand and dealt with …
